CHILDREN'S MUSIC WORKSHOP
July 11-22, 2011
The Children's Music Workshop, a music day camp for aspiring young musicians, offers a setting in which children can explore their musical knowledge and ability through classes, creative play, and presentations by renowned professionals. The Workshop will culminate in performances on the last two days of camp.
The Conservatory welcomes students of all ability levels to experience camp and hone their creativity.
Through a choice of electives, students can tailor their day to include musical activities of particular interest. Elective choices are divided into Morning and Afternoon categories.
Half-day campers attend from 9 am to 1 pm and are able to enroll in Morning Electives only.
Morning electives include the following:
Workshop Orchestra, Orff & Percussion Ensemble, Piano Master Class, Beginning Violin, Violin Master Class (new this year), Composition/Songwriting, and Small Vocal Ensemble
Afternoon electives include the following:
Guitar Class, Intro to the Keyboard, Chamber Music, Songs of Musical Theatre, Viola da Gamba Consort, Musical Soundtracks, Drum Circle, History in Motion, Irish Tunes for Beginners
A typical day consists of the following:
MORNING
• Morning Movement
• Chorus
• Music Theory
• Morning Elective
AFTERNOON
• Dance or Drum Circle
• Afternoon Elective
• Concert/Presentation

TEEN CHAMBER CAMP
July 19-23, 2010
Teen Chamber Music is a week long intensive experience dedicated to advancing musicianship through collaboration, workshops and performances. Take advantage of this opportunity to work with other young musicians to gain exposure to great chamber music works for strings, winds, and piano. A final performance will be given at the end of the week.
Pre-requisite: 3 years of private instruction

• Alexander Technique
• Drumming
• Chamber Music
• Master Class and Technique
