The Saint Paul Conservatory of Music offers three summer camps. The Children’s Music Workshop is open to children who have completed Kindergarten up to 6th grade. Maestros of the Future is open to ages 13 to 17. In Harmony with Autism is open to children ages 8 to 12.

THE CHILDREN’S MUSIC WORKSHOP
July 10-21, 2017
Grades: completed K up to 6th grade
Tuition: $575 ($550 for Conservatory students)
The Children’s Music Workshop, a music day camp for aspiring young musicians, offers a setting in which children can explore their musical knowledge and ability through classes, creative play, and presentations by renowned professionals. The camp is directed by Dr. Rena Kraut, Assistant Professor of Clarinet at Gustavus Adolphus College and an active orchestral and chamber musician. The Workshop culminates in performances by campers on the last two days of camp.
MAESTROS OF THE FUTURE
Aug 7-10, 2017
AGES: 13 to 17
Maestros of the Future is a music and leadership workshop that encourages students to enhance their communication, problem-solving and team work skills through the study of chamber music. Open to ages 13-17, students will participate in small and large group ensembles, coached by faculty and guest artists. Other activities during the workshop have included individual practice time, theater games, field trips to Minnesota Public Radio, as well as concerts given by local artists. The workshop concludes with a student showcase concert and reception.

IN HARMONY WITH AUTISM
Aug 14-17, 2017
AGES: 8 to 12
Tuition: $300 ($275 for AuSM members)
In Harmony with Autism is a workshop presented in partnership with the Autism Society of Minnesota. Participants will learn about music through song and games and work with music experts, trying a variety of percussion instruments. Workshop is directed by Kathy Lee, a performing musician, elementary music teacher, and director of the St. Paul Children’s Chorus at the SPCM.
