Thomas Strommen

Thomas Strommen

Saxophone

Thomas has been playing saxophone for twenty years and has studied at length with some of the finest saxophonists and jazz musicians in the region. He has performed with his own bands and other groups at many Twin Cities venues and events including KJ’s Hideaway (formerly The Artists’ Quarter), The Dakota, Crooners Supper Club, Icehouse, Jazz Central, Orchestra Hall, Studio Z, The Jungle Theater, and the Twin Cities Jazz Festival. Slightly further afield, he has also performed on the main stage of the Iowa City Jazz Festival, one of the nation’s largest jazz fests.

Musically omnivorous both as a performer and as a listener, Thomas is well-equipped to support students on their musical path whether their interest is in classical, jazz, or pop saxophone.

Thomas graduated from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls as a music major in 2019.
